HOMESTUCK DISNEYLAND TRIP!!!!
okay so i hammered out the majority of the details!!!!
DATE: January 2nd, 2012
TIME: 10AM meeting INSIDE Disneyland park in front of the Mickey flower garden
RULEZ: no overt costuming please!! casual cosplay is best as disneyland does not allow elaborate costumes inside the park. this means no facepaint/bodypaint/god tier wings etc! and maybe no horns??? you probably don’t want them on anyway during rides! and as always be polite be courteous etc etc :3
we’re probably going to dick around the park, have a light lunch, and go out together (barring we don’t have too many people) for dinner! downtown disney has a selection of cheap-ish cafes and bakeries, and there’s also ihop and denny’s across the street. the group may splinter off into smaller denominations if it gets too large, but as long as we’re all having fun i don’t see the harm of splitting up into smaller groups :3!
as of now the plan is only for Disneyland park. i know some people might have passes to California Adventure too, which is awesome! but i don’t want people to feel forced to buy an expensive Park Hopper pass, so at the moment we’re only planning for Disneyland park itself.

let’s take a minute to admire homestuck’s beautiful theme song.

this song really brings it home that despite all the shipping and the drama in the fandom, and all the silliness and cursing and weird hilarity and convoluted plot shit in the comic

this is a story about four kids and their families

and how much they love eachother

and how sometimes bad things happen to good people no matter how unfair it might be, but no matter how insignificant you are as a single person, you can still change things for the better

its about the bittersweetness of growing up, love and loss, perseverance and hope through adversity, self sacrifice and loyalty, and doing what you have to do to make sure everyone pulls through okay

i think thats why homestuck is so popular

despite the fact that we arent gods, we dont crush imps with refrigerators or have cakefights with our dads (uh unless you guys do which is totally cool i guess??), we don’t have aliens bothering us, we don’t have trouble finding our pumpkins or have to worry about defeating evil omnipotent carapaced dogmen who like slaughtering the people we care about, or our very reality being destroyed……

i think everyone can identify with how painful it is to leave your childhood and innocence behind, and how important friendship is on the path of adversity

and thats what homestuck means to me sobbu sobbu sits the fuck down
